- Lesson Plan →Objectives, pacing and practice, built from this lesson's brief.
- Guided Notes →One page your students fill in and keep.
- Exit Ticket →Three items at the end of class. No student accounts.
- Re-teach →After an exit ticket: who missed what, and what to do tomorrow.
- Homework →Assign practice; it grades itself.
"Make strategic use of algebraic structure, the properties of operations, and/or reasoning about equality to solve: • linear absolute value equations in one variable or simple rational and radical equations in one variable."
"• including rewriting simple rational expressions, rewriting expressions with rational exponents in radical form, and factoring polynomials not included in the preceding bullet."

What you'll learn
- Solve a radical equation by isolating the radical, squaring, solving the resulting linear or quadratic equation, and checking every candidate in the original equation, rejecting any that are extraneous
- Explain why squaring both sides of an equation can produce values the original equation excludes
- Solve an equation containing a rational exponent by converting to radical form or raising to the reciprocal power
- Decide, before solving, whether a given equation requires a verification step
