Privacy Notice

• Read every lesson, slide and practice set without an account.
• Accounts are for people aged 13 or over. We offer none to children under 13.
• A student answering an exit ticket has no account, is never asked for their name, and cannot type free text about themselves.
• We do not sell personal information, and we run no advertising.

If you are just reading: no account needed. We record which pages are viewed and how visitors arrived, tied to a random identifier in your browser — not to a person — so we can tell whether the materials are useful.

If you have an account:your name, email, the roles you chose (teacher, tutor, parent, student), and a confirmation that you are 13 or over. If you signed in through a school provider, your name and email come from them. We also store the work you do here — classes, assignments, answers and results. A teacher or tutor sees the work of students connected to them; a parent sees their own child’s. No one else does.

⚠️ The analytics cookie is not set on the exit-ticket page a student answers on their own phone.

Students open a check for understanding with a code — no account, no login, no email— and pick a seat label the teacher typed. A student never types anything about themselves. Seat labels are a teacher’s own note: never joined to a user account, never shown to another teacher, with no student record behind them.

⚠️ Intended retention: we intend to clear seat labels 90 days after a session, keeping only the anonymous results. That deletion is built but is not yet running in production, so labels entered so far are kept until we delete them on request. We would rather say this than describe a control that is not yet operating.

Most answers are graded against a stored answer key, and nothing leaves our systems. Written, free-text answers are different: the question, the model answer and the text the student wrotego to Anthropic’s API to be graded.

⚠️ No name, email or account identifier is included in that request. The answer goes; who wrote it does not.

• Google Firebase — sign-in and accounts.
• Neon — the database.
• Vercel — hosting.
• Anthropic — grading written answers, as described above.
• Amazon SES — email such as invitations and notifications.
• Google Analytics — usage measurement.
• Clever and ClassLink — only if you sign in through them.

We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.

Accounts require an age confirmation of 13 or over. If a child under 13 has one, tell us at support@k12worx.com and we will delete it. A student taking an exit ticket has no account and gives nothing about themselves, which is why that flow is open to a whole class.

A teacher can use these tools individually, without their school being involved. Where a school or district has an agreement with us, that agreement governs.

⚠️ We make no claim here about FERPA or state student-privacy law, in either direction. That question is open and with counsel; we would rather say so than assert a position we have not confirmed.

Email support@k12worx.com and we will delete your account and the work attached to it, send you a copy, or correct it. You do not need a reason.
