Terms of Use

• The lessons are CC BY 4.0 — reuse, adapt and even sell them, as long as you credit us.
• Accounts are for people aged 13 or over. Don’t share yours.
• Don’t abuse the service, scrape it wholesale, or resell it.
• The materials are offered as they are. Check them before you teach them.
• Either of us can end this at any time.

Anyone may read the lessons, slides and practice sets without an account.

An account requires you to be 13 or over. If you create one for a school, a class or a tutoring practice, you confirm you are allowed to do so. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.

A student answering an exit ticket has no account and is not a party to anything here beyond ordinary acceptable use.

Don’t do these things:

• Break the law, or use the service to harm, harass or impersonate anyone.
• Try to reach accounts, classes or student work that are not yours — including by probing, scanning or exploiting the service.
• Overload the service — automated bulk downloading that degrades it for other people is not what the open licence is for. Ask us and we will help you get the materials a better way.
• Upload malware, or anything that disrupts the service for other people.
• Strip the attribution the licence below requires, or misrepresent whose material this is.

We may suspend an account that does any of this, and where the conduct is serious we will say so plainly rather than quietly.

The curriculum is openly licensed. The lessons, slides, practice sets and other curriculum materials are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, adapt, redistribute and use them commercially — including in a paid product — provided you credit K12worX, link to the licence, and say if you changed anything. Where an individual item carries a different licence, that licence governs it.

The software and the brand are not. The site itself — its code, name and logos — stays ours, and the licence above grants no right to it. Do not present a copy or adaptation as though it were us, or imply we endorse it.

What you put in stays yours. Classes you build, assignments you write, answers your students submit: yours, and the CC BY licence above does not touch them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service — to store it, display it back to you and to the people you shared it with, and to keep backups.

If you bring student work here, you are responsible for having the permission to do so under your school’s policy and the law that applies to you. Seat labels and class names are yours to choose — please keep them free of anything a student would not want written down.

⚠️ We make no claim about FERPA or state student-privacy law in either direction; that question is open and with counsel. Where a school or district has a signed agreement with us, that agreement governs over these terms.

Some answers are graded automatically, and some material here is produced with AI assistance. It can be wrong.Treat a grade as a first pass, not a verdict — a teacher’s judgement overrides it. Review any material before you put it in front of a class.

What is sent where, and what is not, is set out in our Privacy Notice.

The service is offered as is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or fit for any particular purpose, and we may change or withdraw features. We will not delete your work without warning where we can avoid it.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for anything beyond the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a free account, is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Close your account whenever you like by emailing support@k12worx.com; deletion works as described in the Privacy Notice. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or stop offering the service, and we will give notice where we reasonably can.

If these terms change materially we will update the date above. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and disputes belong to the courts there. If any part of this is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
