**HSF.IF.C.9**: Compare properties of two functions each represented in a different way (algebraically, graphically, numerically in tables, or by verbal descriptions). For example, given a graph of one quadratic function and an algebraic expression for another, say which has the larger maximum.

HSF.IF.C.9: Compare properties of two functions each represented in a different way (algebraically, graphically, numerically in tables, or by verbal descriptions). For example, given a graph of one quadratic function and an algebraic expression for another, say which has the larger maximum.
What you'll learn
- Extract comparable properties (intercepts, maxima/minima, average rate of change, domain, range) from functions given in different representations (algebraic, graphical, tabular, verbal)
- Compare the same property across two functions to determine which is greater, lesser, or equal
- Read key features from graphs and tables with sufficient accuracy to support valid comparisons
- Convert between representations when necessary to make a comparison feasible
- Justify comparisons using evidence from each representation, citing specific values, coordinates, or calculations
- Communicate comparison results in complete sentences that reference both functions and the specific property being compared
