Common Core Math - HS Geometry

Lesson Plan

Draw transformed figures

Goals / Objectives

Draw the image of a geometric figure under a given translation, using graph paper or geometry software

Draw the image of a geometric figure under a given reflection, using graph paper, tracing paper, or geometry software

Draw the image of a geometric figure under a given rotation, using graph paper, tracing paper, or geometry software

Specify a sequence of transformations (composition) that maps one given figure onto another

Verify that a proposed transformation or sequence correctly maps pre-image to image by checking all vertices

Standards

HSG.CO.A.5

HSG.CO.A.5: Given a geometric figure and a rotation, reflection, or translation, draw the transformed figure using, e.g., graph paper, tracing paper, or geometry software. Specify a sequence of transformations that will carry a given figure onto another.
