Common Core Math - Grade 6

Lesson Plan

Understand solving an equation or inequality as a process of answering a question

Goals / Objectives

Interpret solving an equation as finding which value(s) from a specified set make the equation true

Use substitution to test whether a given number makes an equation or inequality true, and state the true/false verdict

Distinguish solving inequalities from solving equations: the solution to an inequality is a set of values, not a single number
