Goals / Objectives

Distinguish between accuracy and precision in measurement contexts, and explain how each can fail independently

Identify the number of significant figures in a reported measurement and explain what that number signals about the measurement's precision

Apply significant-figure rules correctly when reporting the result of a calculation involving measured values

Match the reported precision of a quantity to the resolution of the measuring instrument and the practical demands of the context

Recognize when a reported quantity has false precision (too many digits) or inappropriate under-precision (too few digits) for the situation
