Common Core Math - HS Algebra

Lesson Plan

Solve linear equations and inequalities

Goals / Objectives

Solve linear equations in one variable with numeric coefficients, including equations that require distributing and combining like terms

Solve linear equations with letter coefficients (literal equations / equations with parameters) by treating other letters as constants and solving for the target variable

Solve linear inequalities in one variable, applying the critical rule: reverse the inequality symbol when multiplying or dividing by a negative number

Represent solutions to linear inequalities using inequality notation, interval notation, and number line graphs

Identify special cases: equations/inequalities with no solution or infinitely many solutions
