Add and subtract polynomials by combining like terms, including with multi-variable and higher-degree expressions
Multiply any two polynomials using the distributive property, recognizing FOIL as a special case for binomials
Explain why polynomials are closed under addition, subtraction, and multiplication but not division
Identify the degree and leading coefficient of the result of a polynomial operation
Verify polynomial operations by evaluating both the original expression and the result at specific values
