Common Core Math - Grade 7

Lesson Plan

Use facts about supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles to solve simple equations

Goals / Objectives

Define supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles

State the angle measure relationships for each pair type (supplementary: sum = 180 degrees; complementary: sum = 90 degrees; vertical angles: equal)

Write an equation to represent an angle relationship given a figure with an unknown angle

Solve the equation to find the unknown angle measure

Verify the solution by checking that the angle relationship holds

Apply multiple angle relationships in the same figure to solve multi-step problems
