Goals / Objectives
Identify like terms in a linear expression, including terms with rational (fraction or decimal) coefficients
Add and subtract linear expressions by combining like terms, including terms with rational coefficients
Apply the distributive property to expand a product of the form a(bx + c) where a, b, and c are rational numbers
Factor a linear expression by identifying and extracting a common factor from each term
Simplify expressions that require multiple steps -- expand, then combine like terms -- using properties of operations as strategies
