Lesson Plan

Law of Sines

Goals / Objectives

State the Law of Sines: a/sin(A) = b/sin(B) = c/sin(C)

Apply the Law of Sines to solve for missing sides when given two angles and one side (AAS or ASA)

Apply the Law of Sines to solve for missing angles when given two sides and a non-included angle (SSA)

Recognize and analyze the ambiguous case (SSA), determining whether zero, one, or two triangles exist

Standards

F 706. Use trigonometric concepts and basic identities to solve problems G 705. Solve multistep geometry problems that involve integrating concepts, planning, and/or visualization G 604. Apply basic trigonometric ratios to solve right-triangle problems
